21st December 2010 - Dae Ye Mind Lang Syne Charlie Todd and Jack Meikle In the absence of the President, Vice President Jim Watt introduced Charlie Todd and Jack Meikle. They, with an illustrated programme entitled 'Dae Ye Mind Lang Syne' took the members back down the years to simpler times when people worked hard for very little, but were happy, compared with the wealth and 'must have' attitude of today. Charlie and Jack have produced two books with an incredible 3000 photographs of Thankerton, Carmichael and Pettinain, a small selection of which they showed and described. Henry McMahon gave the vote of thanks for a most interesting talk. |
